and Drag Updates - Notes from the field
Notes
from the field: Nov. 7th.
The elk hunting has been tough this year as the elk have not
moved onto the refuge yet and there have been very few bison
on the refuge over the course of the last several weeks. The
good news is…there are more than a thousand head of
the elk across the river just waiting to continue their migration
onto the refuge. We anticipate that Thanksgiving week will
be very busy. Bison and Elk hunters have seen several grizzlies
along the Snake River bottom, on Shadow Mountain, and the
Blackrock area…please exercise caution and be bear aware.
Our guides and clients have been blessed with continued success
on bulls plus approximately five more bulls taken in oct/nov
that look like they’ll make the book!
The bison season has been a little tougher this year…as
the bulls are staying closer to the main herds (in the park)
or the bulls have been in tough more remote areas. We’ve
had to quarter, bone, and pack out several on horseback this
season. The weather this fall has been beautiful and Jackson
has very little snow on the ground. We still have a few hunts
available in December (after Christmas) and January guided
hunts. Don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions
or would like the “bison” or “elk”
report. Happy Hunting!
Notes

We
filled several of our guided hunters early, don’t hesitate

referenced below. Call us if you are interested in a guided
hunt or if you have any questions on retrieval. There are
a few days in September when we have limited manpower available,
so please call us if you are hunting in September. We have
posted a few of the 2011 photographs of the successful sportsmen
and women! The opener was an absolute gorgeous day and many
folks were blessed with their harvest (19 total)! Opening
day was followed by another pending book bull! We are offering
